Takes cognizance of the upcoming Andhra University – State Nodal Agency AP State Eligibility Test 2018 for Eligibility of Assistant Professor and would like to briefly state in the subsequent Paragraphs for the ready reference of the Candidates:
AP SET 2018 Notification
The Candidates keen to appear in Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test 2018 shall be able to commence Online Registration followed by Release of a Press Release From 26th March 2018 to 2nd May 2018.
Eligibility:
The State Nodal Agency, Government of Andhra Pradesh, notified Eligibility Criteria for AP SET is being repeated here as stated in the subsequent Paragraphs.
There is No Upper Age Limit for applying for Eligibility for Assistant Professor
The Qualified Candidates are Eligible to apply for the Post of Assistant Professor only in the Universities / Colleges situated in the State from where they have cleared their State Eligibility Test.
The Candidates who have secured Minimum 55% Marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree or Equivalent Examinations from Universities / Institutions recognized by the University Grants Commission are Eligible for this State Eligibility Test. Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to Non-Creamy Layer / Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) / Persons With Disabilities (PwDs) Category candidates who have secured at least 50% Marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree or Equivalent Examination are Eligible for this State Eligibility Test.
The Candidates who have appeared or will be appearing at the Qualifying Master’s Degree (Final Year) Examination and whose Result is still awaited or Candidates whose Qualifying Examinations have been delayed may also apply for this SET. However, such Candidates shall be provisionally admitted and shall be considered for Assistant Professor only after they have passed their Master’s Degree Examination OR Equivalent with at least 55% Marks (50% Marks in case of Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer) / SC/ST/PwDs (Persons With Disabilities) Category Candidates. Such Candidates must complete their PG Degree Examination within One Year from the Date of the State Eligibility Test Result with required Percentage of the Marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified.
The Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Degree-holders whose Master’s Level Examination had been completed by the 19th of September 1991 (irrespective of the Date of Declaration of the Result) shall be Eligible for a relaxation of 5% in Aggregate Marks (i.e., from 55% to 50%) for appearing in State Eligibility Test.
The Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their Post-Graduation only. The Candidates, whose Post-Graduation Subject is not covered in the List of the Subjects may appear in a related Subject.
The Candidates are required to send neither any Certificates / Documents in support of their Eligibility nor Printout of their Application Form (Confirmation Page) to APSET Office. However, the Candidates, in their own Interest, must satisfy themselves about their Eligibility for the Test. In the event of any Ineligibility being detected at any Stage, their Candidature will be cancelled and they shall be liable for Legal Action.
The Candidates having Post-Graduate Diploma / Certificate awarded by Indian University / Institute or Foreign Degree / Diploma / Certificate awarded by the Foreign University / Institute should in their own interest, ascertain the Equivalence of their Diploma / Degree / Certificate with Master’s Degree of recognized Indian Universities from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.
AP State Eligibility Test 2018 – 19 Admit Cards Download
Andhra University will upload the electronic Admit Cards / Admission Certificate Minimum Two Weeks prior to commencement of A.P. State Eligibility Test 2018. Andhra University shall conduct the State Eligibility Test 2018 in 31 Subjects. Andhra University shall conduct on 1st July 2018 the State Eligibility Test 2018.
The Syllabi for all the Papers remain the same as that of UGC / CSIR, National Eligibility Test (NET) Examination.
Syllabus of Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test 2018:
Andhra University shall host Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test, which shall be based on the Subject opted for by the Candidates as per following Pattern:

Procedure and Criteria for Declaration of the Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test 2018 Result
The University Grants Commission has determined the Minimum Qualifying Marks for the Candidates to be considered Eligible for being awarded Eligibility for Assistant Professors / Lecturers as here under:

Step I | It is mandatory for the candidates desiring to appear in the Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test to secure the Minimum Qualifying Marks to be considered for award of Assistant Professor / Lectureship as herein above. |
Step II | Amongst those candidates who have cleared Step I, Merit List would be drawn up (Subject-wise and Category-wise) by using the Aggregate Marks secured by the Candidates in the above Three Papers. |
Step III | Top 15% Candidates (for each Subject and Category), from the Merit List mentioned under Step II shall be declared State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) Bureau for Lectureship only. |
Step IV | Andhra Pradesh State Level Eligibility Test Commission would draw up a Separate Merit List for awarding the Junior Research Fellowship to the candidates from amongst the NET Qualified Candidates figuring in the Merit List under Step III. |
Furthermore, Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test makes the aforestated Qualifying Criteria FINAL & BINDING on the Candidates. |
In case the Subject of a Candidate is not included in the List of SET Subjects, the Candidate may appear in UGC NET/UGC-CSIR NET, which is held Twice a Year.

Validity:
For Assistant Professor Eligibility, the State Eligibility Test (SET) Certificate shall remain Valid for that particular State only and forever. The Recruitment to the Post of Lecturer may be made from among the State Eligibility Test (SET) Qualified Candidates by the Universities / Colleges / Recruitment Agencies as per their prescribed Procedures and Rules & Regulations.
For First Gen / Communiqués on Andhra P SET 2018 Test Question Booklet Paper-specific Set-wise Provisional Answers Key in Set A, Set B, Set C, Set D, Final Answers Key for Subject wise and Paper I / Paper II / Paper III AP SET 2018, Merit List, Final Merit List, Final Result, etc., in respect of award of Eligibility for Professorship / Lectureship, as First Updates on the same shall continue to be put up for display on our Website for the ready reference of the Andhra Pradesh SET 2018 Examinees would continue to be put up for display on the afore-cited Web Portal.
