Scheme of the Optical Mark Recognition Based Screening Test 2019 of 02 Hours’ duration:

 BSF Head Constable (MIN) | ASI Syllabus 2019

The Optical Mark Recognition Based Screening Test consisting of Parts I, II & III shall have 150 Objective-Type Multiple Choice Questions based on Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination / Higher Secondary Certificate Examination / Intermediate/ 10+2 of Board of Secondary Education Standard of Central / State Government.

The Optical Mark Recognition Based Written Examination consisting of Part IV shall comprise 50 Multiple Choice Questions of Objective Types based on Current Affairs, History, Geography and General Science.

Selection Procedure Format of the Tests Selection Criteria
First Phase:

Optical Mark Recognition Based Written Test

Optical Mark Recognition Based Screening Test (OMRST) The Border Security Force shall prepare the Final Result for the Posts of (i) Assistant Sub-Inspector (STENOGRAPHER ) and Head Constable (MIN) by taking into consideration the Aggregate Marks secured by the Candidates in the Descriptive Test carrying Maximum 200 Marks only for the Post of Assistant Sub-Inspector (STENOGRAPHER ) and In Aggregate Marks obtained by the candidates both in the Descriptive Test and Dictation Test of 100 Marks + 100 Marks = Totaling 200 Marks for the Post of Head Constable (MIN).
Second Phase:

Physical Standard Test, Skill Test

Document Verification and Pre-Recruitment Medical Examination (Detailed Medical Examination / Review Medical Examination)


i)         The Candidates with Sufficient High Marks / Higher Marks / Maximum Marks would be placed on the Merit List drawn up by the Border Security Force, Ministry of Defence.

ii)       In case of Equal Marks scored by the candidates both the Optical Mark Recognition Based Screening Test and Skill Test, then the Marks scored higher by the candidates shall be placed higher on the Merit List.

iii)      In case of a TIE [as stated above (i) & (ii)] still persisting, the Border Security Force would accord Preference / Priority to the Candidates Senior / Older in Age.

iv)     In case of a TIE [as stated above (i), (ii) & (iii) still persisting, then the Border Security Force shall give Priority to the candidate whose Name begins with the Alphabet, which comes First in the Alphabetical Order gets Preference.

v)       The Candidates belonging to any Reserved Category / Community is placed on Merit based on the Marks scored by them shall be selected against General Category with the Vacancy transferred to the other Candidates from the Reserved Category.

Application Fee:  Rs. 50/- in the shape of Bank Demand in favor of the Inspector General / Directorate of Inspector General / Commandant to be paid by only Candidates belonging to General / Other Backward Classes Category.  All other Candidates are exempted from the Fee.

Skill Test

Shorthand Speed for ASI (Stenographer) Shorthand Speed @ 80 words per minute in English or Hindi for 10 minutes. Transcription of dictation in English in 50 minutes or in Hindi 65 minutes on Computer.
Typing Speed For HC (Ministerial) Typing with min speed of 35 words Per Minute in English or 30 word in Hindi corresponding to 10500 KDPH in English/9000 KDPH in Hindi with average of 5 key depressions for each word on computer. Time 10 Minutes.

The envelope containing Application must be super scribed in Bold Letters As “Application For the Posts of Assistant Sub-Inspectors (STENOGRAPHER ) / Head Constables (MIN)”.

In case of non-receipt of the e-Admission Certificates / Admit Cards / Hall Examination Tickets, the candidates are advised to establish a contact in person or over Telephone with the concerned Recruitment Officer.
