The Central Institute of Education, Delhi University, is all set to release an Information Bulletin  / Admission Prospectus 2018 – 19 in respect of Entrance Tests for Admission into i) Bachelor of Education Course, ii) Bachelor of Elementary Education (Special Education) and iii) Bachelor of Elementary Education Course and we anticipate Online Registration Activation in the First Week of April 2018.

DU B.Ed Admissions 2018

The Central Institute of Education (Delhi University) Notification in respect of Bachelor of Education Entrance Test / B.Ed. Entrance Test. 2018 & Bachelor of Elementary Education Entrance Test / B.El.Ed. Entrance Test 2018 / Bachelor of Elementary Education Entrance Test (Special Education) / B.El.Ed. Entrance Test for Admission into Bachelor of Education, B.El.Ed. Special Education & Bachelor of Elementary Education Course for the Academic Year 2018 – 19

Educational Qualification:

Bachelor’s Degree with 55% Marks obtained by General / Un-Reserved Candidates and Relaxation in the Marks for Reserved Community.

Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination / Higher Secondary Certificate Examination / Intermediate from the Central Board of Secondary Education / Board of Secondary Education recognized by the State Government.

DU e-Admit Cards for B.Ed. / B.El.Ed Entrance Test 2018

The Central Institute of Education, upon scrutiny of the Application Forms received from the Applicants shall display in May 2018 tentatively One Week before the Bachelor of Education Entrance Test 2018 and the Entrance Examinations for Bachelor of Elementary Education (Special Education) and Bachelor of Elementary Education the Lists of the Candidates observed Eligible to appear for the Entrance Tests. Hence, the Central Institute of Education will release / issue the e-Admit Cards / Hall Tickets.

Procedure for Selection:

The Faculty of Education, Central Institute of Education, University of Delhi (FoE, CIE, UD) shall draw up the Merit Lists based on the Bachelor of Education Entrance Test (BEET) 2018. The Department of Faculty would select the candidates on the basis of their respective performance in the Bachelor of Education Admission Test 2018, depending on their Rank in the Merit List of their respective Category and Subject Category. The Department of Education, Central Institute of Education shall prepare a List of the Candidates strictly in order of Merit, based on their Performance in the Entrance Test and their Preference of institutions during Counseling.

In case of any TIE, the Candidate Older in Age shall rank higher.

Delhi University B.Ed / B.El.Ed Entrance 2018 Syllabus

The Central Institute of Education shall host the Entrance Test in June 2018. The Central Institute of Education will announce by mid-June 2018 the Results for the Entrance Tests.  First Counseling-cum-Merit List followed by other two consecutive Counseling-Merit Lists within 03 Days of declaration of the Merit List-cum-Counseling Lists.

In case of B.Ed. Entrance Examination 2018 Community-wise Minimum Qualifying Marks to be obtained by the Candidates are 20% & 18% for Other Backward Classes Candidates.

In case of B.Ed. (Spl. Edu) (Visual Impairment) Examination 2018 Community-wise Minimum Qualifying Marks to be obtained by the Candidates are 40% & 38% for Other Backward Classes Candidates.

D. Language Proficiency (Hindi and English Languages)

Total Marks 150

Procedure For Counseling And Admission:

Display of List for Counseling on the basis of the Candidate’s Individual Performance in the Bachelor of Education Entrance Test / B.Ed. Entrance Test (BEET), depending on their respective Rank in the Merit List of their respective Category and Subject Category, the Candidates shall be called for Counseling at the Central Institute of Education (CIE).

Display of the Candidate’s Name in the Counseling List does not indicate the Final Selection for Admission. The Merit List for the General Category Seats will consist of all the Candidates in the order of Merit.

No one would be excluded from the same. In other words, it will also include Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe / Other Backward Classes Candidates if they come in the General Merit.

A List of the Candidates selected will be prepared strictly in order of Merit, based on their respective Performance in the Entrance Test and their Preference for the Institutions during Counseling.

In case of ‘TIE’, the Candidate Older in Age shall rank Higher.

The Candidates should refer to Schedule for B.Ed Admission given in the Prospectus and check out / log into the Central Institute of Education Website for Regular Updates.

Counseling Session:

The Candidates shortlisted for the Counseling Session must remain present at the Stipulated Date and time, along with the following Documents / Certificates, etc.

  1. Photo Identity Proof
  2. Print out of the Application Form
  3. Admit Card of Entrance Test
  4. Two Photographs
  5. Original and Two Sets of Photocopies of the relevant Documents as mentioned in Table 4 on Page 16.

The Candidates will be called upon Merit-wise to make choice of Institution as per the Seats available, Category and Subject-wise.

Male Candidates will have only Two Institutions as Choice of Institution (CIE & MVCE), whereas Female Candidates may choose any of the Four institutions, depending on availability of the Seats in the respective Subjects and Categories.

Admission Formalities:

The Candidates screened through the Counseling will have to complete the Admission related formalities within the Stipulated period of time in the respective Institutions allotted during Counseling. If they fail to do so, the Offer will be withdrawn and the Seats will be allotted to Candidates next in the Merit List during the subsequent Counseling.

Their Selection will stand automatically cancelled without any further Notice.

Once Allocated, no Request for Change of Institution shall be entertained.

The Candidates whose Results are awaited must also report for Counseling at the Stipulated Time.

The Candidates who do not have their Results of the Qualifying Degree shall not be allowed for Provisional Admission. However, they will be considered for Admission in the subsequent Admission Lists, provided:

  1. The Candidates report for Counseling on the Date(s) mentioned when their respective Names appear in the Merit List(s).
  2. The Seats are available in the particular Subject Category when the Candidate Reports with the Result.

Allotment of Candidates to different Institutions:

The Faculty of Education Counseling Committee will conduct the Counseling on the stipulated dates of the Admission Cycle.

The Counseling will be held in the Department of Education based on the Merit Lists prepared separately for each Subject Category and Reserved Category. The Department of Education shall call the candidates strictly in order of the Merit / Merit wise to make choice of Institution as per the availability of the vacancies.

The Male candidates will have only two institutions as Choice of Institution (CIE & MVCE), whereas the Female candidate can choose any institution, depending on availability of vacancies.

Admission Formalities:

The Selected Candidates shall have to complete the Admission Compliance within the stipulated period of time. Failing compliance, the Department of Education shall withdraw the Offer to the Unsuccessful Candidate and the Seat shall be allotted to Candidates Next One in the Merit List during Counseling, leading to Cancellation of their selection without any further notice. Once allocated, and the Central Institute of Education shall not entertain the request of the selected candidates for change of Institution.

The Candidates must carry all relevant Documents with them as specified on the Admissions Portal. These include the following Documents in Original with Two Sets of Self-Attested Photocopies

  1. Class X Board Examination Certificate
  2. Class X Marks-Sheet
  3. Class XII Marks-Sheet
  4. Class XII Original Certificate
  5. Provisional Certificate and Marks-Sheet of the Qualifying Examination
  6. Character Certificate (recent, Six Months)
  7. SC/ST/PwDs/CW Certificate (in the Name of the Candidate) issued by the Competent Authority
  8. Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer) Certificate (in the name of the Candidate) issued by Competent Authority
  9. In case the OBC Certificate, then a proof for the Non Creamy Layer Status.
  10. Migration Certificate: Required for those Students who have passed the Qualifying Examination from outside Delhi University
  11. At least Two Passport Size Self-Attested Photographs.
