Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 10th edition of the Defence Expo in Chennai. The Defence expo showcased India’s capability in export of defence systems and components. More than 670 exhibitors including over 150 international exhibitors are taking part in this Exhibition.

    Union Health Ministry has banned over-the-counter sale of around 14 creams containing steroids and antibiotics under the Schedule H category by making amendments to certain Drugs and Cosmetics Rules,
New Delhi hosted the 16th International Energy Forum Ministerial Meeting from 10 – 12th April. The biennial IEF Ministerial Meetings are the world’s largest gathering of Energy Ministers who engage in a dialogue on global energy issues. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi formally inaugurated the Meeting on 11th April
The 65th National Film Awards were announced in New Delhi on April 13. Assamese Film ‘Village Rockstar’ bagged the best film award while ‘Newton’ has been selected as the Best Hindi Film.

India has inked a pact with Morocco under which focus would be laid on evaluation of potential mineral resources and promoting exploration and mining through participation of both public and private sector.

India has jumped 13 places in the last one year to 130th spot in the latest annual Index of Economic Freedom released by a top American think-tank the Heritage Foundation. As per the latest Index of Economic Freedom, China has jumped one spot and Pakistan is now at 131 position.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has said, India’s economic growth is set to rise to 7.3 per cent this fiscal and further to 7.6 percent in the next financial year, on back of GST and banking reforms.
