Indian Army JAG-20 Notification April 2018 Application Form | SSB Interview Dates/Call Letter:

Briefly state with reference to the upcoming Notification in respect of (Men & Women) JAG Entry Scheme (NT) 20th Course commencing October 2017 in the subsequent Paragraphs.

Indian Army JAG-20 April 2018 Notification

Online Registration in response to the Integrated Head Quarters’ Forthcoming Notification in regards to Grant of Short Service Commission (Non-Technical) – Judge Advocate General Entry Scheme 20th Course for Law Graduate shall commence on the 25rd of July 2017 (25.07.2017) with the Deadline for Online Application Forms scheduled to come to an end on the 23rd August 2017 (23.08.2017).

Notification: 

Eligibility Criteria:

The Candidates must be an Indian Citizen.

Age Limit:

21 Years to 27 Years of Age as on the Cut-off Date as notified in the Official Advertisement.

Educational Qualification:

Minimum 55% Aggregate Marks in LL.B. Degree (Three Years’ Professional Course after Graduation or Five Years Course after 10+2 Examination).

The Candidates should be eligible for Registration with the Bar Council of India / Bar Council of State (BCI / BCS). The Candidate should be from a College / University recognized by Bar Council of India.

Recruitment to the said Posts in compliance with the Rules / Guidelines mulled by the Integrated Head Quarters Ministry of Defence shall be as explained in the Latter Part:

The Integrated Head Quarters conducts Recruitment in compliance with the Recruitment Rules and Guidelines stated in the subsequent Paragraphs.

Selection Procedure

The Integrated Head Quarters, Ministry of Defense notified Selection Procedure is as follows:

The Integrated Head Quarters (IHQ), the Ministry of Defense (Army) reserves the right to shortlist the Applications and to fix Cut-off Percentage of Marks for each Engineering Discipline without assigning any reason to the Candidates.

Only Shortlisted Eligible Candidates depending on the Cutoff Percentage will be interviewed at Selection Centers (Allahabad Uttar Pradesh, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh and Bangalore, Karnataka), by Psychologist, Group Testing Officer and Interviewing Officer Call-up Letter for the SSB Interview will be issued only through Candidate’s Registered e-mail Id and also through SMS only. The Candidates will not be interviewed locally. Allotment of the Selection Center Allotment of the Selection Centre is at the discretion of Director General Recruiting, Indian Head Quarter, Ministry of Defense (MoD) (Army) and NO REQUEST for Changes are entertained in this regard.

Personal Interview will be conducted in November / December 2016 onward.

The Candidates will be put through Two Stages’ Selection Procedure. Those who clear Stage I will go to Stage II. Those who fail in Stage I will be returned on the same day. Duration of the Services Selection Board Interviews is Five Days excluding day of arrival and details of the same are available at Official Website of Recruiting Directorate.

Indian Army JAG-20 April 2018 Merit List 

The Integrated Head Quarters notified Merit List Criteria preparation is as re-cited in the subsequent Lines.

A Merit List would be prepared for each Subject separately on the basis of the Marks secured by the Candidate in the SSB’s Interview and as such Higher Educational Qualifications, Previous Performances; National Cadet Corps (NCC) Background etc. have no role to play. Those high in the Merit List and who come within the stipulated vacancies, and are Medically Fit are issued Joining Instructions for Pre-Commissioning Training.

The Merit List of the recommended Candidates will be displayed at the reception of Director General Recruiting and our Website.

Procedure for Selection:

Stages Process
Stage I Shortlisting of the Candidate’s Application: 

Shortlisting shall be on the based on Higher Percentage of the Marks secured by the Candidates in the Qualifying Examination (60% or higher), which might be raised in case of the Applications from the Candidates with even higher Marks were received.   Such shortlisted Candidates shall be summoned for Aptitude Test (in English Medium). The Preliminary Test shall consist of Mental Ability Test / Cognitive Aptitude Test and Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP&DT).

Stage II Final Selection:

The Candidates qualifying the above Preliminary Selection shall be called for Final Selection. The Date and Venue for the Final Selection Board (FSB) will be uploaded on Indian Coast Guard Website. The Final Selection will consist of Psychological Test (PT), Group Task (GT) and Personal Interview (Personality Test).

Phase I would comprise Intelligence Test, Picture Perception and Discussion Test
The Candidates declared QUALIFIED in Phase I shall be allowed to appear in Phase II.  The candidates declared NOT QUALIFIED in the Phase I would be sent back.
Phase II shall comprise Psychological Testing, Group Testing and Interview.  The Test shall be held over Four (04) days.

The Successful candidates shall be put to Medical Examination that would be held during 03 – 05 Days.

Intelligence and Personality Test (IPT):

The SSB (Test and Personal Interview) Recruitment / Selection Procedure consist of Two Stage Selection Process- Stage I and Stage II. Only those candidates who clear the Stage I are permitted to appear for Stage II. The details are:

  1. Stage I consists of Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) Tests are Picture Perception *Description Test (PP&DT). The candidates will be shortlisted based on combination of performance in QIR Test and PP and DT.
  2. Stage II comprises Personal Interview (PI), Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests and the These Tests are conducted over Four (04) days. The details of these tests are given on the Indian Army (Join Indian Army) Website.
Phase I would consist of the Intelligence Test (IT), Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PPDT)
The Candidates declared QUALIFIED in Phase I shall be allowed to appear in Phase II.  The candidates declared NOT QUALIFIED in the Phase I would be sent back.
Phase II shall comprise Psychological Testing, Group Testing and Interview. The Test shall be held over Four (04) days.

The Successful Candidates shall be put to Medical Examination that would be held during 03 – 05 Days.

 Documents are to be carried to the Selection Center by the Candidate:

  • One Copy of the Print-out of Application duly signed and affixed with Self-Attested Photograph.
  • Self-Attested Copy of Matriculation or Equivalent Certificate issued by the Board concerned (Central Board of Secondary Education / State Boards / ICSCE) in which the Date of Birth is reflected for proof of the Date of Birth (Admit Card / Mark-Sheet / Transfer / Leaving Certificate, etc., are not acceptable for proof of Date of Birth).
  • Self-Attested Copy of 12th Class Certificate & Mark-Sheet.
  • Self-Attested Copy of Graduate LL.B. Degree  / Provisional Degree
  • Self-Attested Copy of Mark sheets of all Semesters. Revised Mark-Sheets issued by a Boards and University/ies after the Last Date of Receipt / Application will not be accepted for this Course. However, the same will be accepted for the subsequent course.
  • The Certificate from the Principal / Head of the Institution stating that the Candidate is in Final Year and all Examinations in respect of the Candidate will be over by the 1st of April 2017 (01.04.2017) (for Final Year appearing Candidates).
  • Equivalence Certificate of the University concerned to claim Equivalence.
  • All the Certificates in Original. Original Certificates shall be returned after Verification at the Service Selection Board itself.
  1. Any Candidate who does not carry the said entire Documents for the SSB Interview, his / her Candidature will be cancelled.
  2. The Second Copy of the Printout of Online Application is to be retained by the Candidate for his reference. No need to send any hard copy to Director General Recruiting (DGR).
  3. The Candidates must submit only one Online Application. Receipt of multiple Applications from the same Candidate shall result in cancellation of the Candidature, and no Representation would be entertained in this regard.

The Indian Head Quarters has underlined the procedure for Online Registration cited in the subsequent Lines.

Applications need to be submitted Online on IHQ Website.

  1. Click to Open the Website.
  2. Click on Officers Entry ‘Apply / Login’ and then Click ‘Registration’.
  3. Follow On-Screen Instructions for Registration. Fill Online Registration after reading very carefully the Instructions. After registration, your Profile will open. Click on ‘Apply Online’ to process the Online Application. A Page “Officers Selection-Eligibility” will open.
  4. Your Registration Details will confirm your Eligibility to Apply. Click on ‘Apply’ and a Page ‘Application Form’ will open. Proceed with the Application as per Onscreen Instructions. Carefully read on Screen Instructions and click ‘Continue’ to fill details under various segments-Personal information, Communication details, Education Details and Details of the Previous SSB. ‘Save & Continue’ each time before you proceed to the next Segment.
  5. After filling the Details of the Last Segment you shall move to page ‘Summary of Information’, wherein you can check out & edit Entries you have made so far. Only after ascertaining the correctness of all your details click on ‘Submit’. After submitting Click on ‘PDF’ and take out Two Copies of the Application Form having the Roll Number and other Details generated by the System.
