Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) shall shortly announce the Result for Tier I of the Optical Markup Reader Based Written Examination comprising 150 Multiple Choice Questions of Objective Type for 150 Marks for the Post of Junior Engineer (Signal & Telecom) 07 Vacancies.

In view of the fact that the Written Examination consists of 02 Tiers (i.e., Tier I for 150 Marks and Tier II for 50 Marks), the Minimum Qualifying Marks to be obtained by the Candidates irrespective of their Categories will be 60% Marks.

Procedure for Selection:
Optical Markup Reader Based Written Test consists of 02 Tiers, as stated here under:
Tier I (comprising 150 Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions for 150 Marks.
Tier II: The Written Examination shall consist of 02 (Two) Tiers – Objective Test comprising Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions and Subjective Type comprising Descriptive Test.
150 Multiple Choice Questions of Objective Type
The Objective One will be for 150 Marks for 02 Hours’ Duration. The distribution is 90 Marks – Technical Ability & General Science + 60 Marks (General Intelligence, Reasoning, General Awareness and Arithmetic).
- Negative Marking: 1/3 Marks will be deducted for each wrong Answer in Objective Paper only.
The Descriptive type will be for 50 Marks – (35 Marks – Professional, 15 Marks – Proficiency in English Language (Précis Writing and Comprehension) -1½ Hours Duration.
The Total Marks obtained out of these 200 Marks will be converted to 100 as Full Marks.
The Minimum Qualifying Marks to be obtained by the Candidates irrespective of their Categories will be 60% Marks. No Round Off will be carried out.
Out of the Qualified Candidates (those who shall score 60% or higher Marks) Two Separate Panels will be formed, one for Land Losers and the Second one for other than Land Losers. The Second Panel will be considered after exhausting the number of the Qualified Candidates from among the Land losers.
This will be followed by Scrutiny of the Documents as per Merit Order.
