We would like to elaborate on the Rajya Sabha Secretariat Posts Group III – VI Preliminary Examination in progress w.e.f. the 05th of July 2018 ending on the 08th of July 2018 as stated in the subsequent Lines. That Rajya Sabha Secretariat is likely to release soon  the Test Question Booklet Set A / Set B / Set C & Set D Provisional Answers Key for the Optical Mark Recognition Based Screening Test / Preliminary Examinations.

The Process of the Selection may involve several Stages, (viz., Preliminary Examination, Written Examination, Skill Test and Personal Interview, etc.)

The Minimum Qualifying Percentage of Marks as prescribed for certain Stages / Papers of Examinations for various Posts (e.g., Written Examination, Skill Tests and Personal Interview) is available on the Website of the Rajya Sabha. The Secretariat reserves the Right to prescribe Minimum Qualifying Percentage of the Marks for other Stages / Paper of the Competitive Examination for any Post as well as modify / amend the Minimum Qualifying Marks / Minimum Qualifying Percentage of Marks already prescribed.

There shall be Negative Marking of 0.25 Marks for each Wrong Answer in the Optical Mark Recognition Based Screening Test.

Rajya Sabha Secretariat Post Groups I & II Optical Mark Recognition Based Screening (Preliminary) Examination 2018 for Post Groups I & II scheduled to be conducted, commencing on the 05th of July and ending on the 08th of July 2018:

The Process of the Selection may involve several Stages, (viz., Preliminary Examination, Written Examination, Skill Test and Personal Interview, etc.).

There will be Negative Marking in the Preliminary Examination attracting deduction of 0.25 Marks for each Wrong Answer.

  • However, Minimum Qualifying Percentage of the Marks for any Stages / Paper so prescribed or modified shall be notified prior to the conduct of that Stage / Paper of the Examination.
  • There would be a Preliminary Examination consisting of one Single Paper comprising the Objective-Type Multiple Choice Questions.

The Preliminary Examination is meant to serve, except for the Post of Staff Car Driver (Ordinary Grade), as an Optical Mark Recognition Based Screening Test in Selection of the Candidates for the next Stage of Recruitment Process and only those Candidates, who qualify in the Preliminary Examination as per the approved Norm for calling the Candidates for the next Stage of the Recruitment Process shall be Eligible to appear in the next Stage of the Examination.

Criteria for Selection:

For the Posts of Junior Parliamentary Interpreter (Hindi / English), Junior Parliamentary Interpreter (Assamese), Junior Parliamentary Interpreter (Marathi), and Junior Parliamentary Interpreter (Urdu), there would be an Oration Test and only those Candidates who secure the prescribed Qualifying Marks in the Oration Test will be eligible to appear in the Optical Mark Recognition Based Written Test. The Marks obtained in Oration Test shall be taken into account in preparing the Final Merit List.
