UPSC Engineering Services Exam 2018 ESE Notification,Online Reg Form,Syllabus,Pattern:

Online Registration in response to the Union Public Service Commission’s (UPSC) Notification in respect of the Engineering Services (Preliminary & Main) Examination 2018 Application Form are going to be commenced from 27th September 2017. Submission of the Online Application Forms along with the detailed schedule etc are briefed under.

The Union Public Service Commission has released schedule of the Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2018 to shortlist the Candidates for Union Public Service Commission Engineering Services (Main) Examination 2018. The Commission shall host the Engineering Services (Main) Examination, 2018 to further shortlist the candidates for Personality Test / Personal Interview.

Community-wise Common Merit List / Final Merit List comprising the Candidates for the Union Public Service Commission advertised / notified Posts shall be drawn up by taken IN AGGREGATE MARKS in Stage I + Stage II Plus Stage III.

UPSC ESE Admission Letters | Admit Card 2018

The Union Public Service Commission shall release the e-Hall Tickets / Admission Letters to the Eligible Candidates shall be issued e-Admit Cards Three (03) Weeks before commencement of the said Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination 2018. The e-Admit Cards / Hall Tickets would be made available on the Union Public Service Commission’s Website for downloading by the candidates. The Commission would not mail / dispatch via Post any e-Admittance Cards will be sent by Post. All the Applicants should necessarily submit valid & active e-mail Ids. while filling up their respective Online Application Forms as the Commission may use the Electronic Mode for contacting them, especially at the time of mailing e-Summon Letters / Call Letters for Personality Test / Personal Interview.

Subject: Revision of Scheme and Syllabi of the Engineering Disciplines shall be implemented from the Engineering Services Examination, 2018.

Based on the recommendations of Expert Committees formed by the Union Public Service Commission, the Government (Ministry of Railways) has conveyed its approval to the following Structural changes in the Examination Scheme and Syllabi for the Engineering Services Examination to be implemented from the Year 2018 onwards.

The Engineering Services Examination Revised Syllabus Contents Test Stages for selection to various Posts shall be as stated in the Table:

Community-wise Minimum Qualifying Marks for each Paper should be at the discretion of the Commission.

Only those Candidates qualifying at this Stage to be permitted to appear for Stage-II Examination

Only those Candidates who have qualified at this Stage (i.e., Stage-I + Stage-II + Stage-III) to be included in the Final Merit List of the Engineering Services Examination.

Only those Candidates who have qualified at this Stage (i.e., Stage-I + Stage-II + Stage-III) to be included in the Final Merit List of the Engineering Services Examination.

Thus, the Marks secured by the Candidates in the Stage-I (Objective Type Papers) of the Engineering Services Examination should be added to the Marks scored in the Stage-II (Conventional Type Papers) of the Examination and Stage-III (Personality Test) and accordingly, such Marks obtained by the Candidates in Stage-I should also be counted for Merit.

The Union Public Service Commission shall take up Verification of Eligibility Conditions with reference to Original Documents only after the candidate has qualified for Personal Interview / Personality Test.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Age Limit (As On 01.01.2018):

Any Candidate belonging to General Community should have attained Minimum 21 Years but must not exceed 30 Years of Age.  Relaxation in Upper Age Limits to all other Reserved Category Candidates.  Relaxations to the Candidates excepting those on Probation in Permanent / Temporary Service shall be granted as per the Central Government. 

Minimum Educational Qualifications:

For Admission in to the Engineering Services Examination, a Candidate must have:

  1. obtained a Degree in Engineering from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central Legislature or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be Deemed as Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; or
  2. passed Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India); or
  3. obtained a Degree / Diploma in Engineering from such Foreign University / College / Institution and under such conditions as may be recognized by the Government for the purpose from time to time, or
  4. passed Graduate Membership Examination (GME) of the Institution of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers (India) (IETEI); or
  5. passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India (ASI); or
  6. passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics & Radio Engineers, London (IEREL) held after November, 1959.

Provided that a Candidate applying for the Post of Indian Naval Armament Service (INAS) (Electronics Engineering Posts) and Indian Radio Regulatory Service (IRRS) Group ‘A’ may possess any of the above Qualifications or the Qualification mentioned here below viz.,

M.Sc. Degree or its Equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a Special Subject.

Application Fee:

The Candidates (excepting Female / Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe candidates, who are exempted from payment of Fee) are required to pay a Fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred Only) either by depositing the money in any Branch of the State Bank of India  in cash, or by using Net Banking Facility of the State Bank of India (SBI), State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur (SBBJ) / State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) / State Bank of Mysore (SBM) / State Bank of Patiala (SBP) / State Bank of Travancore (SBT) or by using Visa / Master Credit / Debit Card.
