The Union Public Service Commission has advertised the Notification for Civil Services Prelim/ Main Examinations Cut off Marks/ Minimum Qualifying Marks. UPSC post declaration of Civil Services Preliminary Exam Result on the basis of Cut off Marks shortlisted the candidates for CS Main Examination 2016 & going to conduct the Civil Services Main Examinations from 3rd to 9th December 2016. In assistance to Candidates going to appear in the Exam the Expected Cut off Marks for CS 2016 Prelim/ Main/ Total Cut off (Category wise) are going to be intimated.

UPSC 3rd December Civil Services (IAS) Mains 2016: ESSAY Question Paper

Instructions: Write two essays, choosing one from each of the following Section A & B, in about 1000-1200 words.

Total Marks : 250

Section-A

The conventional essay-type Paper-1 organized by commission on prescribed 3rd December, the Essay type 250 Marks Questions were asked in the subjects prescribed by the Commission.

On 3rd December 2016, UPSC conducted the Essay type paper-1 for the civil services mains examination.
The essay Type paper answered by the Main Qualified candidates in the medium authorized in admission certificate which must be stated clearly on the cover of this question-cum-answer (QCA) booklet in the space provided. The candidates written the Essay paper in the relevant manner within prescribed word limit, should be considered in preferences.

Important To Notice

Here are some useful last-minute tips that will help you get that extra edge.

Instructions to write better in Exam:

  • Pay close attention to the word directives given in each question. These directives give an indication of the style in which the examiner would like you structure and write it. A detailed analysis of directives is recommended.
  • Always keep the answers simple & relevant. This exam demands complex concepts to be explained in simple language. The main focus should be to craft answers which will articulate the message in the best possible manner as question required.
  • ‘Introduction’ part of the answer should be kept crisp and to-the-point. Remember, it is meant to give the reader a glimpse of the answer and not the whole story. It is highly recommended that the candidate write a brief background on the theme of discussion.

UPSC Civil Services Mains 2016 Expected Cut off Marks 

UPSC Civil Services Exam 2016: In shortlisting of Candidates for UPSC Main Examination Commission prepared the Cut off Marks/ minimum qualifying marks/ Last recommended candidate’s Marks to qualify & allowing the candidates for Civil Service Main Exam. Hereby the aspirants are intimating for CS Main Exam 2016 expected Cut off Marks/ marks to qualify for Interview. Along with the CS 2016 (Prelim/ Main) Exam Qualifying marks/ Results/ Merit lists, Previous Years Cut off Marks shall be intimated at the Commission website.

Civil Services Examination2016 the minimum qualifying standards (marks)/marks secured by the last recommended candidate in various categories at various stages shall be decided by the Commission.

UPSC IAS Mains Essay Paper Analysis 2016-17

For Prelims- Cut off marks shall be based on GS Paper‐I only. However, GS Paper‐II shall be qualifying with 33% (66.66) marks. (Rule 15 of Civil Services Examination, 2015)

For Mains– Subject to 10% marks in each of the seven competitive papers i.e. Essay, GS‐I, GS‐II, GS‐III, GS‐IV, Optional‐I and Optional‐

Cut off Marks 2015:

Hereby the candidates are given the Civil Service Examination Cut off Marks of 2015 Year. CS (Prelim/ Main/ Total) Cut off Marks/ Minimum Qualifying or Last candidate’s Qualifying marks are given hereunder.
